WALTER FREEMAN


Walter Freeman, 71, Route 1, Greenwood, Clark County, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield Monday, May 16, 1977. He had been admitted to the hospital on Saturday.


There was no funeral service. Burial took place at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the Neillsville Cemetery.


The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of burial.


Walter Freeman was born Aug. 23, 1905, in Russia. He received his education in Lithuania, and came to this country in 1948, locating in Ohio. He later moved to the Town of Weston, in Clark County, where he operated a farm until 1954, at which time he moved to Milwaukee. He returned to the Town of Weston in 1971, where he retired.


He was married on June 30, 1936, at Kaunas, Lithuania, to the former Mary Petronis, who survives him.


Other survivors include a daughter, Jane Freeman, Milwaukee three sons, Edward, New Berlin Paul, Greenfield and Arnold, Menomonie Falls one brother, Arthur Freeman, in Lithuania, and seven grandchildren.


Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
