LEMUEL E. HOWE PASSES AWAY
Mr. Lemuel E. Howe, died at his home, west of Greenwood, Clark County, Wednesday evening, Dec. 17, 1930, following an illness of several years duration.
Deceased was a son of Rueben and Elizabeth E. Howe and was born at Syracuse, N.Y., Sept. 3, 1852, being one of five children, all of whom preceded him in death. He came to Modovi, Wis., in 1877 and to Greenwood Nov. 23, 1899, settling on the farm where he passed away, having reached the age of 78 years, 3 months and 14 days.
He was married to Carrie L. Stanton at Mondovi, Sept. 25, 1895, who survives him. He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Harriet, who is a great-great niece, and two nieces, Mrs. Chas. Otis of Vancouver, B.C. and Mrs. John Stanton of Neillsville, and a great nephew, Joy D. Stanton of Neillsville.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon and on Saturday the body was taken to Mondovi by the Bishop
Undertaking firm, where it was laid to rest in Oak Park Cemetery, Rev. D.S. Householder officiating.
Mr. Howe was a man of excellent habits, fine moral character and was invariably a good neighbor and his family circle was a happy one.
