CARL JESSEN JR. DIES AT SPARTA

Carl Inghoff Jessen
passed away at St. Mary's Hospital at Sparta last Saturday after a two week illness. He was taken ill at his home at Tomah and went to the hospital for an operation for appendicitis. Peritonitis set in, which cause his death.

Deceased was born March 14, 1900 in the town of Longwood, Clark County. He attended the Moody school and graduated from Withee High School. He then attended the Agricultural College at Madison, graduating in 1923. He spent three years as an official tester and for some time conducted a feed store at Withee.

He was married on Oct. 5, 1927 to Barbara Jackson of Withee. To this union were born two children, Theodore Carlyle, age three years, and Ida Cleone, four months old.

In May 1929 he left Withee and moved to Tomah, where he has been manager of the Valley Farms.

He was well known in this vicinity as a man of excellent ability and had a broad interest in all that related to agricultural improvement. He leaves many good friends whose heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and relatives in their sorrow.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church at Withee, Tuesday, Rev. Mikkelsen officiating. (Owen Enterprise)
