OBITUARY OF MARTIN SORENSON


Martin Sorenson
was born in Botne, Norway, Feb. 1, 1861, and came to America in 1881. A year after he arrived here he was united in marriage to Hannah Bredeson and resided on his farm in Longwood ever since he came to Clark County.


Mr. Sorenson passed away at his home one mile east of Longwood on Tuesday, May 8th, 1934, at the age of 73 years.


He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. J. H. Peterson of Anoka, Minn., four sons, Oluf of Milwaukee, Hendrick, who resides in the west and Emil and Eddie at home seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild one brother, Nels of Longwood, two sisters, Mrs. Olette Hanson of Stevens Point and Mrs. Stina Nelson of Unity.


Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 10th, at the Norwegian Lutheran Church of Longwood, Rev. M.K. Aaberg officiating.


Mr. Sorenson was one of the early pioneers of Clark County. He was a kind neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was favorably regarded by all who knew him for his many fine qualities and will be greatly missed in the community in which he has so long lived.
