MRS. CARL BENSON BURIED AT LONGWOOD


Jorgine Marie Benson
, daughter of Lars and Mathilde Jorgenson, was born at Kongsberg, Norway, April 11, 1870. She passed away at Longwood, Clark County Nov. 6, 1935.


Mrs. Benson came to the United States with her mother in 1884 and joined her father in Longwood. The father preceded them by two years.


She was married to Carl Benson in Eau Claire, Oct. 1, 1892. To this union was born four children, one daughter and three sons. Two sons preceded her in death.


Throughout her life Mrs. Benson was an active missionary for church and social organizations in and about Longwood, always serving others, never thinking about herself. Her death came as a climax to the complicated ailments from which she suffered for several years.


She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Carl son, Leonard and daughter Mathilde Flaatten and three grandchildren, Jerome Flaateen, Leonard Jr. and Darlene Benson.


Funeral services were held at the Longwood Lutheran Church Saturday Nov. 9, officiated by Rev. Pfeiffer of Greenwood. Interment took place in the church cemetery.


Relatives from out of town that attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Benson and daughter, Darlene, Racine Mrs. T.E. Meyer, Lombard, Ill. Mrs. Adelaide Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. William Olson, Oak Park, Ill. Mrs. Frank Askew, Madison Mrs. Oline Rund, Miss Sina Rund and George Rund, Minneapolis, Minn. Mrs. Carrie Havelson, St. Paul, Minn. John Christopherson, Mondovi Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Erickmoen, Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Nyen, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Nyen, Harry Nyen, Mrs. Ludwig Olson, Evan Elland and Ed Ellan, Blair.
