VERNON CLUTE, 68, DIES AT
GREENWOOD
Greenwood--Vernon Clute,
68, resident of this vicinity (Greenwood, Clark County) for 39 years, died of
pneumonia yesterday afternoon, Feb. 23, 1937, at 1:30 p.m. at his home 10 miles
northwest of Greenwood.
Funeral arrangements have not been made because
of the weather. The rites, however, will take place from the M. E. Church, and
the Rev. C.R. Gaylord will officiate. Masonic rites will also be conducted at
the funeral.
Born in Mauston in 1869, Mr. Clute came to
Greenwood about 39 years ago. One son, Frank, Florida, survives, as do three
brothers and one sister, Curtiss Clute, Harvey Clute, Rocky Ford, Colo. Herbert
Clute, Sanford, Fla. and Mrs. Jane Walters, Janesville.
