OBITUARY OF JOSEPH W. MORROW
Joseph Walter Morrow was born at Ripon, Green Lake County, Nov. 10, 1856. At the time of his death he was 82 years, 10 months and 1 day old. He died Saturday, Sept. 23, 1939 at about 5:30 p.m. at his home in Abbotsford. He had been ailing for over a year, the cause of his death being hardening of the arteries and a heart ailment, which made it necessary for him to be confined to his bed for the past two months.
On May 5, 1889 he was united in marriage to Mary Kennedy of Halder. In 1898 they came to the town of Beaver, Clark County, settling on a wild piece of land. Earlier in life Mr. Morrow was a logger and log driver on the river.
He was a resident of the Town of Beaver for 41 years. He held the position of school clerk at one time.
In 1934 Mr. and Mrs. Morrow moved to the Town of Mayville, where they have since made their home.
A requiem high mass was read Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford, Rev. D.D. Brady officiated. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
Last spring, May 5, 1939 they celebrated their Golden Wedding.
Mr. Morrow leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and three sons, James of Beaver, Carl of Abbotsford and Wm. Of Milwaukee. One son passed away about 31 years ago. He also leaves 5 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were George Lundahl, John Brandt, Geo. Greaser, Frank Wiese, James Vandehey, Wm. Schultz.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kennedy, Mrs. Katherine Russell and son Joseph, of Ingram, and Wm. Morrow of Milwaukee.
