OBITUARY OF DAVID HENRY REESE


David Henry Reese Jr., son of David H. and Marie Reese, was born Dec. 20, 1924 in the Town of Warner, Clark County and passed away Wednesday Aug. 20, 1941, having reach the age of 16 years and 8 months.


He spent his entire life at Greenwood, with the exception of one years when he and his parents lived at Park Rapids, Minn. He would have been a Junior in High School this fall.


David was seriously injured while attempting to stop a team of run away horse, with which he and his brother Robert were getting a load of hay on the Mrs. Lydia Varney farm near the High School, at 4:30 p.m. and he was taken to the Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, where he passed away at 10:30 that same day.


He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Jean and Marian and one brother, Robert, all at home. His grandmother and several aunts and uncles.


A short service was held at the home at 1:45 p.m. And at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church with Rev. M. K. Aaberg and Rev. A.J. Abbott officiating. At the home the flower girls sang Jesus Savior Pilot Me . At the church Miss Evangiline Sheets and Mrs. Chal. Perkins sang Some Day, Some Where , Beyond The Sunset and Good Night and Good Morning , accompanied by Mrs. John Meng. He was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The flower girls were Elsie Steiger, Marie Johnson, Gloria Thorson, Fay Opdycke and Verna Bredesen.


The pallbearers were John Huntzicker, Alvin Klinke, James Brown, Rolland McCune, Robert Speich and Orlin Fravert.
