GREENWOOD GIRL, 20, DIES THIS MORNING
RARE MALADY FATAL TO MARIAN REESE RITES WEDNESDAY


Greenwood--Ethel Marian Reese, 20, died at 3:15 a.m. today, Dec. 22, 1947 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David R. Reese, where she had been ill with a rare ailment for nearly a years.


Tentative arrangements have been made for funeral services to be held at the Schiller Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. and at Grace Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with The Rev. Lee Holmes officiating. The body will be at the Schiller Chapel. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Ethel, better known as Marian, Reese was born in Greenwood, Clark County on Sept. 11, 1927, and graduated from the Greenwood High School in 1945. For a year after graduation she was employed at Milwaukee and Chicago, and then she engaged in teaching school in North Dakota.


She became ill while at home for her Christmas vacation a year ago. She was a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield for seven weeks and since then had been at her home here. Several days ago she contracted the flu, which aggravated her condition.


She is survived by her parents by a sister, Jean, who is a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital, Wood and by two brothers, Robert and Jack, at home. Another brother, David, died in 1941.
