EVELYN BARTELT


Greenwood--Evelyn Irene Bartelt, 19, Greenwood, Clark County, died yesterday, Oct. 27, 1949 in a Chippewa Falls Hospital of complication caused by a severe case of measles. She had been seriously ill since Friday.


Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Lee H. Holmes will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The body will lie in state at the Stabnow Funeral Home from 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon until 12:30 p.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the church.


Miss Bartelt was born April 20, 1930, in Greenwood. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Bartelt. Since her father died in 1940 she had been staying at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Bartelt. The paternal grandmother died in 1943.


Surviving Miss Bartelt are three brothers, Robert and Douglas, living with the grandfather, and Pvt. William Bartelt, stationed at Ft. Riley, Kan. Her paternal grandfather, W.C. Bartelt, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Grace West, Neillsville, also survive.
