BOSTWICK FUNERAL


Greenwood--Funeral services for Mrs. May Bostwick, 81, who died at her home in Greenwood, Clark County early Friday morning, Jan. 8, 1943 were held at Grace Methodist Church at 2 o'clock at the Schiller Funeral Home.


The Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiated, and interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


During the service Mrs. Chal Perkins and Mrs. George Haeuser, accompanied by Mrs. John Meng, sang Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me, In the Garden, and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.


Mrs. Mattie Robinson of Mondovi, Mrs. Orville Dimler, Mrs. Otis Trickie, and Mrs. Joe Susa carried flowers. Pallbearers were Mike Podobnik, Fred Barr, Orville Dimler, Joe Susa, Fred Drew, and Frank Meyer.


Mary Frances Stanley was born in St. Peter, Minn., Dec. 13, 1861, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Stanley. She grew to womanhood at Princeton, Minn., and accompanied her parents to South Dakota, where she met and married Henry Bostwick Sept. 9, 1878. To this union were born nine children, three sons and two daughters still living and four children who died in infancy.


The Bostwick family moved to Wisconsin more than 50 years ago.


Surviving are the following children: Charles H. Bostwick, Greenwood Jason Bostwick, Tower City, N.D. Lyle Bostwick, Merrillan Mrs. Agnes Stebbens, Stockton, Calif. and Mrs. George (Velma) Gemmeke, Greenwood 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Bostwick also preceded her in death.


Among those from out of town at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bostwick and family, Merrillan Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Stanley, Chetek and Mrs. Mattie Robinson, Mondovi.
