SONDEREGGER RITES SET FOR SATURDAY
INJURY CULMINATES IN DEATH OF GREENWOOD MAN WEDNESDAY

Greenwood--Military funeral rites will be conducted her on Saturday for Jacob Sonderegger, 53, World War Veteran who died at Marshfield Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 27, 1943.

The Rev. B. M. Fresenborg will have charge of services at the Schiller Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. and at Zion Reformed Church at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Sonderegger struck his head against a mower part while cutting buckwheat several weeks ago, but did not consider the injury serious at the time. Increasingly troubled with headaches, he sought medical attention and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where an operation was performed Wednesday in an attempt to save his life.

He was born in Berneck, Switzerland, on May 6, 1890, and was confirmed there in 1906. Coming to the United States in 1908, he spent several years in southern Wisconsin and came to Greenwood, Clark County in 1915. He entered the Army in the spring of 1918 and served for 14 months, 11 of them overseas.

On Sept. 20, 1920, he was married to Martha Beerli, and they came to the farm 2 miles east of Greenwood, on which they have lived since then.

Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Miss Martha Sonderegger, R.N., Eau Claire, and Mrs. Donald (Kathryn) Wells, Greenwood his mother, Mrs. Katherine Sonderegger, Switzerland and two brothers, and a sister, William of Greenwood, Fritz in Switzerland (The rest of my copy was cut off)
