MRS. KITZHABER, 81


Greenwood--Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Mrs. Lawrence Kitzhaber, 81, Greenwood, Clark County, who died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 12, 1970 at St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where she was admitted June 30.


The Rev. Leander Koopman, pastor, will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Michael Mertens of Willard. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home where the general rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. today (Thursday), followed by the Knight of Columbus rosary at 8:30 p.m.


The former Mabel G. McDowell was born Oct. 6, 1888 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She received her education there and at Madison, S.D. and was a teacher there prior to her marriage.


She was married at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nov. 28, 1911 to Lawrence Kitzhaber, who preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1965. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1961.


After their marriage they farmed at Ryan, Iowa and in 1920 moved to the Greenwood area, where they also farmed. After the death of her husband she moved to Willard and since that time had made her home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas.


Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Gregg (Geneva) Rogillio, Greenwood Mrs. Richard (Catherine) Deiler, Marshfield Mrs. Calvin (Dolores) Cornwell, St. Paul Park, Minn. Mrs. Mike (Lorraine) Klapatauskas, Willard Mrs. Wallace (Peggy) Brey, Neillsville Mrs. James (Joann) Suda, Gurnee, Ill. three sons, Raymond, Mosinee and Bernard and Ronald, both of Greenwood 40 grandchildren seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Everett McDowell, Seattle, Wash.


She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, a son, three sisters and two brothers.
