ALICE STEIVATER


Funeral services were held at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc on Friday, Dec. 2 for Alice Stiefvater, who passed away at Family Heritage Nursing Home in Schofield on Nov. 29, 1977.


Her grandson, Father Robert Stiefvater of Milwaukee officiated.


The former Alice Gries was born in Manitowoc County on April 28, 1892. She came to Clark County with her parents in 1905.


She taught in rural schools in Clark County until her marriage to Robert Stiefvater on Sept. 30, 1914.


She lived in Manitowoc all her married life.


In later years she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Katherine Lindner.


She was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by five children, Eugene of Wauwautosa, Robert B. of Green Bay, Vivian (Mrs. Robert Roberts) and Alice Mae (Mrs. John O Brian) of Wausau and a sister, Carol Stiefvater of Chicago twenty-one grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Lindner.
