FRANCIS FRITZ CONDRAD
Francis Fritz A. Conrad, 76, Owen, Clark County, died Thursday, March 18, 1991, at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 1991, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longwood. Rev. Richard Sorenson officiated and burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Music was provided by Rob Kowitz, organist and Time and Jodi Rueth, vocalists. Pallbearers were Jeff Karlen, Dennis Wendt, Bruce Miller, Doug Missling, Ralph Rusch, and Arthur Gaddis. Honorary pallbearers were Edgar Wendt and Raymond Kliauga.
Francis Conrad was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Glasgow, Trempealeau County, to William H. and Julia (nee Ravmun) Conrad. He was a 2-year graduate of the University of Wisconsin Ag Short Course, graduating in 1936. He came to Clark County in 1936 and worked for Clark County DHIA. In 1940, he moved to Flemington, N.J., where he worked for the University of New Jersey for one year. He married Phyllis Swenson June 2, 1940, at Owen. They farmed in the Town of Longwood until 1965. He was employed from 1967 1980 at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, as a nursing assistant. He retired in 1980. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Clark County Farm Bureau, and Clark County Ag Short Course Alumni.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis one brother, Harold Conrad, Melrose; three sisters, Mrs. Hollis (Laura) Bibby, Galesville; Mrs. Flavian (Vera) Emerson Galesville; and Helen Wood, Galesville; and 26 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harvey and one sister in infancy.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, handled the arrangements.
