ROBERT SCHOFIELD


Robert J. Schofield, 85, Greenwood, Clark County, died Friday, June 28, 1991, at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, July 1, 1991, at 10 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated and burial was in the West Side Cemetery, Spencer. Family served as pallbearers.


Robert J. Schofield was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Spencer, to Albert and Sarah (nee Wilson) Schofield. He received his education in Spencer. After his education, he farmed and logged in the Greenwood area. He married Marie Scheel. She preceded him in death. He threshed wheat in the Dakotas for a short time. He married Julia Radke Jan. 9, 1943, in Thorp. She survives. He was employed by the Plautz Bros. Construction for years, retiring in 1964.


Survivors include his wife, one son, Clifford D. Schofield, Greenwood; one daughter, Mrs. Rudolph (Florence) Aspen, Colfax; three step-sons, Irvin Etta, Greenwood; Arnold Etta, Sedro Woolley, Wash.; and Leonard Etta, Wonderlake, Ill.; two step-daughters, Ruth Kippenhan, Neillsville; and Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Thomas, Neillsville; three grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren one great-grandchild 3 step-great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, five brothers, three sisters, and one step-son.


Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
