***********************************

Dora was the daughter of George Lloyd (9 Aug 1838 - 18 Oct) whose family line and history runs into colonial times.  His ancestors participated in the Revolutionary war.  George became involved in the Gold Rush in Denver, Colorado, but after just a few months of prospecting and mining, he joined his brother who was farming near Loyal, Wis. and became a foreman for H. A. Bright.  He eventually formed a partnership with O. P. Wells in the hardware business and continued that until 1973.  He then bought out Mr. Well's interests and also carried on with logging operations.  He did an immense mercantile and lumbering business in those years, taking an active part in nearly every enterprise that promised to develop the resources of the region and build up the city of Neillsville. In some of these enterprises he made money, in other he lost, but in those days of his strength and energy he continued his activity regardless of difficulties. July 8th, 1973, Rev. A. J. Brill Heinlein, married George and Medora "Dora" Marshall at the home of her parents (Stephen and Sarah Marshall) in Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin.  Leaving their daughter Dora without a mother. 25-May-1876, George married Ida M. Marshall (20-Feb-1855 - 21-Jul-1928) who was a teacher at Pleasant ridge and a sister of little Dora's mother, Medora.
