ALICE PETKE


Alice M. Petke, 71, Withee, town of Longwood, Clark County, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1992, at the Marshfield Clinic Greenwood Center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cletus Bowe, Arthur Petke III, Greg Alberts, Dennis Djubenski, Scott Nimbar, and Paul Nimbar.


Visitation with the family will be Thursday, Feb. 27, 1992, after 4 p.m. at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen.


Alice M. Meinhardt was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Owen, to August and Mary Meinhardt. She was a life-long resident of the Withee-Owen area. She married Arthur Petke Sr., on Sept . 3, 1940, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. He survives. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for 49 years in the township of Longwood. She was a life member of St. John's Ladies Aid and active in the work of the church. She was a member of the Longwood Homemakers Club.


Survivors include her husband one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Arlene) Bowe one son, Arthur Petke Jr. one sister, Eleanor Petke, Lake Oswego, Ore. one brother, Franklin Meinhardt, Alaska four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.


She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arthur Meinhardt and one in infancy.
Maurina Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
