HARVEY WARNER MEAD
Harvey Warner Mead, 82, a former resident of Wenatchee, died last Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1978 in a Grants Pass Hospital.
Mr. Mead was born Oct. 31, 1895 in Greenwood, Clark County. He lived in Waenatchee for several years prior to moving to Grants Pass in 1955. He married Opal Campbell in 1953 in Wenatchee.
Mr. Mead had owned several restaurants in Washington and California. Prior to World War I he had served in the Mexican War against Pancho Villa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and following the troops as a camp steward. He dropped into camp by parachute to do the cooking.
Mr. Mead was a 49 year member of the Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge 235 in Tacoma and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Opal, at home a son, Jim Mead, Tacoma three daughters, Bonnie Anderson and Donna Gallaway, both of Tacoma, and LaWanda Zimple, Sacramento, Calif. three step-daughters, Wanda Epperly, Elma, Betty Storme and Peggy Welch, both of Wenatchee a sister Nina Stevens, Seattle 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
I am the Grandson of Mr. Mead, begat by his son Harvey Warner Meade II/ Nellie Bernice Stephens., I am Harvey Warner Meade III, 17900 Ocean Drive #33, Fort Bragg, CA.
