Klune, Joseph Albert (1893 - 1964)
GREENWOOD--Joseph Albert Klune, 70, Greenwood, Clark County, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1964, at his home.
A military service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Hill Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Hartung will officiate, and burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The body will repose at the Hill funeral Home from Friday afternoon until time of services. A general rosary service will be conducted there at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Joseph Albert Klune was born Aug. 27, 1893, in Leadville, Colo. He received his education in boulder, Mont. and the Butte Montana College. When he was a small child, he went with his parents to Yugoslavia. After returning to the United States, they resided in Butte, Mont. He later was employed as a grocery clerk, and then went into business on his own.
His marriage to Mary Rose Horvat took place Aug. 11, 1929, at West Allis. They lived in Milwaukee for twelve years, and then came to Greenwood, where he has operated the Klune Tavern for the past 20 years.
Mr. Klune was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Slovanian Catholic Union, and the Croatian Fraternal Union of America.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward, Appleton and Joseph Ray, Kaukana a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Delores) Thiel, Greenwood two brothers, Rudolph, Boulder, Mont. and William, Albany, Calif. two sisters, Mrs. Tony (Pauline) Cvar, El Cerrito, Calif. and Mrs. Walter (Olga Rose) Tipton, Jefferson.
