Finkle, Edwin James (1899 - 1964)
GREENWOOD--Edwin James Finkle, 75, Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Thursday, March 12, 1964, at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. Death resulted from a heart ailment and followed a several years illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Edward Nachreiner, pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Marshfield, and the Rev. David Kellin, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood.
Friends may call at the funeral home beginning this afternoon and until the time of services.
Mr. Finkle was born Feb. 4, 1899, in Dodge City, Kan. He was married Nov. 26, 1914, to Ellen Elmer in the Town of Warner, Greenwood. He received his education in the Town of Eaton. At the age of four years he had come with his parents from Kansas, the family settling in the Town of Eaton.
After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Town of Eaton and Warner until 1936, when they moved to the city of Greenwood. He had been empolyed as a milk hauler for several years and later worked as a milk inspector.
The Finkles had been making their home in Fort Worth for the past 3 years.
He had served on the Town of Warner School Board.
Surviving him are his wife of Fort Worth, Texas three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Jones, Simi, Calif. Mrs. August (Floraine) Franz, Perry, Iowa and Mrs. Leo (Lila) Tucker, Keene, Texas one son, George, Fort Worth, Texas 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
