Mrs. Mary Hales, 87, Route 1, Granton, Clark County, died Monday evening, March 6, 1978 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 10 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. The Rev. William Noble officiated and burial was in the Neillsville Cemetery.
The former Mary Krejci was born Dec. 25, 1890, in the Town of York. The Hales celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1971. He died May 30, 1973.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Verona) Hainz, West Allis, and Mrs. John (Marion) Hiett of Zephyr Hills, Fla. six grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Miss Estelle Krejci, Neillsville. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

Hales, Mary (25 December 1890 – 6 March 1978)
Funeral services were held last Friday, March 10, from the Gilbertson Funeral
Home, Granton, for Mary Hales, 87, who died March 6 at Memorial Hospital,
Neillsville. The early afternoon services were officiated by the Rev. William
Noble, pastor of the Neillsville and Granton United Methodist Churches.
Mrs. Hales, nee Krejci, born on December 25, 1890, in the Town of York and was
married to George Hales in a Town of York ceremony on March 29, 1911. Since
their marriage, the couple farmed in the Town of York.
Listed as surviving Mrs. Hales are two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Verona) Hainz
of West Allis and Mrs. John (Marion) Hiett of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; six
grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Estelle Krejci,
Neillsville. Preceding her in death were her husband on May 30, 1973, three
brothers and one sister.
Music was furnished by Steve and Janice Ware. Pallbearers for the service were
Carl Hainz, Wayne Hainz, James Hainz, Cyril Lewis, Donald Rowe and Alvin Dahl.
Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
