Verschay, John Michael (1882 - 1968)
GREENWOOD--John Michael Verschay, 86, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday,
June 19, 1968, at his home in Greenwood.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hill Funeral Home here,
and at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Leander Koopman
will officiate, and burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The body will repose at the funeral home from Friday afternoon until the time of
services. A general rosary service will be conducted there at 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Verschay was born May 20, 1882, in Austria. His marriage to Anna Barbara Dragos
took place Aug. 23, 1905, at Calumet, Mich.
After their marriage, the couple lived at Calumet, Mich., until 1914, when they
came to Clark County and settled on a farm in the Willard area. They retired from
farming in 1949, and moved to Greenwood.
Mr. Verschay was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Greenwood.
In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons, John T. Verschay, Willard and Joseph
W. Verschay, Greenwood five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ann) Meyer, Minocqua Mrs. Val
(Marie) Jeras, Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Henry (Jean) Isaacson, Neillsville Mrs. Erwin
(Kay) Grap, Greenwood and Mrs. Cecil (Christine) Anderson, Kansas City, Mo. nine
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Henry V. "Bing" Issacson
Henry V. "Bing" Issacson, 21, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Verschay Sr., recently
graduated from the University of Illinois, with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
He was a member of Theta XI Faternity. He is employed by Sinclair Research Laboratories
Inc., Harvey, Ill.
"Bing" spent many summer vacations with his grandparents and other relatives, and
had many friends her.
