Johnson, Gladys Merle (1914 - 1951)


GREENWOOD
--Funeral services for Miss Gladys Merle Johnson, 36, Greenwood, Clark County, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Lutheran Church with the Rev. Theodore Nelson officiating. Wednesday, the body will be taken to Portland for burial.


Miss Johnson died at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Calmer Clinic, Davenport, Iowa, where she was admitted one week earlier.


The body will repose at the Schiller Funeral Home, Greenwood, before and after services.


Miss Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Emma Johnson, Greenwood, and the late Ole Johnson, was born Dec. 14, 1914, at Melvina. In 1928, she came to Greenwood with her parents, settling on a farm south of Greenwood. Her father died in 1938.


She is survived by two brothers and one sister, Spencer, at home, and Emmett and Mrs. Melvin (Mae) Fegre, Greenwood.
