Windom, Oliver (1893 - 1959)


GREENWOOD--Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church for Oliver Windom, 66, Greenwood, Clark County, who died after a heart attack at his home Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, 1959. The Rev. Ira Tanner will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Wallis-Hinker Legion Post.


The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to the church.


Mr. Windom was born Sept. 19, 1893, at North Bend and came to Greenwood from South Dakota 36 years ago with his parents, the late Thron and Randi (Halverson) Windom.

 He Engage in farming until 4 years ago, when he retired and moved to Greenwood.


Surviving are four sisters, Nelda and Helen Windom, who reside with their brother Mrs. Ivan (Mary) Hemminger, Holcombe Mrs. Hans (Tena) Windom, Elbow Lake, Minn. five brothers, Theodore, Hans, Lendo, Elmer and Otto, all of whom reside with their deceased brother.


He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ole Peter (in April of 1959) and Christian, and one sister, Carrie.
