Mr. Bergant was born July 22, 1875 in Yugoslavia. He came to this country in Jan. 1901 and settled in Ely, Minn. In 1914 he began farming in the Willard area and also worked as a carpenter. His marriage to the former Margaret Gornick, took place May 22, 1922 in Eveleth, Minn. They retired from farming in 1950 and moved to the village of Willard.
