Garbisch, Paul J. (1874 - 1958)


GRANTON--Paul J. Garbisch, 79, a lifelong resident of the Town of Grant, Clark County, died of a heart ailment at 3 a.m. today at his home on route 2. He had been in failing health for some time.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in Zion Lutheran Church here. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. The Rev. Arthur Oswald will officiate.


The body will repose at the Gilbertson Funeral Home beginning Friday morning, and will be removed to the church at noon Saturday.


Mr. Garbisch was born Dec. 24, 1874, on the same farm where he lived his entire life. He was educated in Kurth School and Zion Parochial School. He was married in Maplewood Lutheran Church here on Dec. 25, 1902, to Emma Foemmel, who survives him. The couple observed their 55th wedding anniversary last Sunday, at which time most of their children were present.


Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Agnes) Marg, Town of Grant Mrs. Emmanuel (Anita) Romang, Athens Mrs. Hilda Marg and Mrs. Joseph (Leona) Tucker, both of Superior two sons, Victor, Loyal, and Frederick, at home 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


Four children, seven brothers and six sisters preceded him in death.
