CLARA BANNACH


Clara Bannach
, 94, of 214 North Main, Loyal, Clark County, passed away at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 1978 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, where she had been admitted a week before.


Services for Mrs. Bannach were conducted by Rev. Chester Osowski at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 22 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Interment was in the parish cemetery.


Clara Nowak was born in the Town of Castle, Marathon County on July 28, 1883 to Joseph and Theresa Nowak. She received her education in the Edgar Schools.


She was married to John S. Bannach at Edgar on Oct. 29, 1901. They moved to the Town of York in 1916. After a couple of years they moved to the City of Loyal. In 1921 they bought a farm in the Town of Loyal and farmed until 1946, when they retired and moved to the City of Loyal again.


She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its Altar Society.


Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Clara Becker, Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Mary Sanders, West Glenbrook, , Milwaukee, Mrs. Lawrence (Loretta) Cowles, Stevens Point and Mrs. F. J. (Lillian) Shefchik, Rhinelander two sons, John of Loyal and George of Milwaukee 28 grandchildren 36 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1971 three sisters and six brothers.


A PCCW Rosary was held at 3 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 21. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal was in charge of arrangements.
