Thorson, Palma Theresa (1904 - 1957)
GREENWOOD Mrs. Roy Thorson Sr., 53, who came to Marshfield from Greenwood, Clark County in 1946, died at 6 o'clock this morning, July 24, 1957 at her home, 306 S. Maple Ave., after having been in poor health since last December.
The body will repose at the Hansen Funeral Home here from this evening until noon Friday, when I will be taken to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood for the 2:30 o'clock funeral service that afternoon. The Rev. Alvin O. Pinke of Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield, of which Mrs. Thorson was a member, will officiate at the services, will be followed by interment in the Greenwood Cemetery at Greenwood.
Mrs. Thorson, the former Palma Theresa Stensvold, was born in Norway June 24, 1904, and came to this country at an early age, being educated in Minnesota schools. She was married June 30, 1923, at Albert Lea, Minn., to Roy Thorson.
Surviving besides her husband are 10 children. Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Denk, Marshfield Mrs. John (Gloria) Bast, Stevens Point Roy Thorson Jr. Marshfield Miss Bernelda Thorson, Racine Larry Thorson, Waterloo, Wis. Mrs. Jerry (Trusha) Kroening, Stratford Mrs. Andrew (Beverly) Shirpke, Milwaukee and Muriel, Kenneth and Marilyn Thorson, Marshfield.
Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, a brother, Christ Stensvold, Clear Lake, and three sisters, Mrs. Christ Rugroden, Centuria Mrs. Thora Johnson, St. Crois Falls and Mrs. Ted Meinhardt, Woodruff.
Mrs. Thorson was a member of the Gray Lady service.
