Johnson, Olaf A. (1881 - 1960)


GREENWOOD--Olaf A. Johnson, 79, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1960, at his home here (Greenwood, Clark County). He had been dismissed from St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield Tuesday morning after being a patient there since Friday.


Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiating. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home, where the body will repose until 11 a.m. Friday.


Mr. Johnson was born April 15, 1881, in Sweden. He came to America at the age of four with his parents. He married the former Mabel Hendrickson July 25, 1906. After their marriage they farmed northeast of Greenwood until 12 years ago, when they retired and moved into the city. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in July 1956.


Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mabel) Harding, Wausau, Mrs. Roy (Jane) Nichols, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Vern (Verna) Parish, Elmhurst, Ill. and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Webb, Northbrook, Ill. two sons, Lawrence and Leslie, Greenwood 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death in 1951 by a son, Orville, and two brothers and a sister.
