GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services will be conducted at the Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for William C. Bartelt, 86, of Greenwood, who died Friday evening, Oct. 4, 1968 at the Memorial Home in Neillsville, after a lingering illness. He had resided at the Home since April 1968.
The Rev. Carl Booher will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home from Monday afternoon until 10:15 a.m., and then at the church.
Mr. Bartelt was born Sept. 25, 1882 at Batavia in Sheboygan County, and was married there on Oct. 16, 1902 to Jeannie Marie Melius, who died Dec. 31, 1943. They moved to Greenwood in 1913, where they operated a farm. They lived there until after the death of their son Ruben on June 1, 1940, when they moved to the city of Greenwood with their four grandchildren, Robert, Evelyn, Billy and Douglas.
Mr. Bartelt is survived by two Grandsons, Robert, Greenwood, Douglas, Kaukauna and 14 great-grandchildren.
