Gates, Helen Dorothy (1889 - 1968)

GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--A former Greenwood resident, Mrs. Helen Dorothy Gates, 78, Clinton, died Wednesday, June 26, 1968 at Municipal Hospital at Beloit, where she had been a patient for eight weeks.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Clinton Lutheran Church, and burial will be made at Clinton Cemetery. The Rev. John S. Stephan will officiate.

Mrs. Gates was born Aug. 15, 1889, at Astoria, Long Beach, N.Y. She was married to Orland Boyce, and later to Irvin Gates, Greenwood, who died in 1939.

She left Greenwood in 1940 and went to Milwaukee, where she was employed until eight years ago, when she went to Clinton, where she had resided since. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America in Greenwood.

Mrs. Gates is survived by two sons, Eugene and Orland, both of Portland, Ore. four brothers, three sisters, seven grandchildren .(The rest of my copy was cut off)
