Metzke, Verna Antonette (1916 - 1968)
GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Mrs. Herman Metzke, 52, Greenwood, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 1968 in St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where she had been a patient since June 6.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Pankow, Colby, officiating. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home here from Sunday afternoon until 11 a.m. Monday, and then at the church.
The former Verna Antonette Albrecht was born March 12, 1916, at Stratford, and received her education there. Her marriage to Herman Metzke took place Oct. 26, 1935, at Stratford.
After their marriage, the couple lived at Stratford for one year before moving to Greenwood.
Mrs. Metzke was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society.
In addition to her husband, survivors are three sons, James, Greenwood John and Michael, at home two daughters, Mrs. William (Marlene) Marks Sr., Milwaukee and Mrs. Glendon (Joan) Fischer, Rib Lake two brothers, George Albrecht, Stratford and Edwin Albrecht, Milwaukee two sisters, Mrs. Milan (Irma) Andrich, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Theodore (Esther) Bartz, Stratford, and four grandchildren.
A brother, Arthur preceded her in death.
