Kocher, Frederick A. (1881 - 1961)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--A former Greenwood resident, Frederick A. Kocher, 79, died at Milwaukee County General Hospital at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 1961. He had been a patient since Friday.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hill Funeral Home here, where the body is reposing. The Rev. Gene Carlson, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Kocher was born in Washington County, near Milwaukee, June 8, 1881. He received his education in that county and was married Feb. 5, 1910, to the former Anna Picker in Wauwautosa.


Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to the Greenwood area, where they farmed for 38 years. After retirement in 1951, the Kochers moved to Greenwood, where he was employed by a shipping association. They moved to Milwaukee about 3 years ago.


Mr. Kocher is survived by his wife four sons, Ralph, James and Herbert, Milwaukee, and Donald, Greenwood two sisters, Misses Cora and Ella Kocher, Marshfield and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and George and four sisters, Carrie, Minnie, Rose and Laura.
