Vivoda, George Sr. (1882 - 1954)
GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--George Vivoda Sr., 71, died Saturday in Alexian
Brothers Sanatorium at Oshkosh, where he was a patient for several months.
The body will repose at the Schiller Funeral Home, where funeral services will
be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be buried in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Mr. Vivoda was born March 1, 1882, in Austria, and came to the United States at
the age of 16. He settled in Chicago and was married there to Mary Kotzian in
1907. The couple moved to a farm 5 miles west of Greenwood in 1914. Mr. Vivoda
lived there until after the death of his wife in 1947, then purchased a home in
Greenwood, where he lived until his illness.
Surviving are four sons, George Vivoda, Jr., Elmwood Frank Vivoda, Chicago
Joseph Vivoda, Berwyn Ill. and Henry Vivoda, Appleton and five grandchildren.
