SPENCER Funeral services for Frank Backus, 73, Spencer, who died Tuesday in a convalescent home in Greenwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Swarthout Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Trobaugh, Marshfield, will officiate and burial will be made in the West Spencer Cemetery.

Mr. Backus, who was born May 14, 1878, had spent most of his life in Clark County. His marriage to Norma Upson took place in 1900. Mr. Backus was a retired farmer, and had spent 10 years in Marshfield.

He is survived by two sons, Walter, Greenwood and Edward, Chicago a daughter, Miss Ruth Backus, Neenah two grandchildren and three half-sisters, Mrs. Sadie Schmitt, Random Lake, and Mrs. Dorothy Hike, Mellon, and Mrs. Marcey Dosoki,, Milwaukee.
His wife preceded him in death.
