GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY Word had been received here of the death of Vaughn Francis Carteron, 24, a former resident of Greenwood, which occurred Monday following surgery at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif.
Mr. Carteron, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carteron of San
Diego, Calif., was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Greenwood and received
his education in St. Mary's Catholic School here and the Pittsville
High School. He moved about 10 years ago with his parents to Vesper
and two years ago to San Diego. He received a medical discharge
from the Army.
He was a nephew of Vivian and Eugene Carteron and a grandson of the
late Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Carteron, Greenwood. Surviving are his
parents, a brother, Galen, and a sister, Carolie.
