Flatz, Hazel Maud (1885 - 1969)
GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Mrs. Hazel Maud Slatz, 83, a former
Greenwood resident, died early Tuesday, April 22, 1969, at a
hospital in San Diego, Calif., where she was a patient since Jan.
1, 1969.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hill Funeral Home in
Greenwood. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran
Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood
Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home beginning
at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The former Hazel Maud Warner was born Nov. 30, 1885, in Greenwood,
where she also received her education.
She was married Dec. 29, 1916, at Terry, Mont., to Harvey Flatz,
who preceded her in death May 7, 1958. Following their marriage the
couple operated a ranch in Montana until 1926, when they came to
Greenwood to operate a filling station.
In 1941 they sold the business and purchased a resort on Bear Lake,
near Loretta, Wis. Mrs. Flatz made her home there until Jan. 1 of
this year, when she became ill and went to San Diego to be near her
son, Delmain.
Survivors include a son, Delmain, San Diego, Calif. and a brother,
Don Warner, Greenwood.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a
sister.
