GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zion United Church of Christ for Edwin Hohl, 88, of Greenwood, who died early Tuesday morning, July 15, 1969, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted July 9.


The Rev. Glenn Ridniur, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate and interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Thursday, and then at the church.


Mr. Hohl was born Feb. 4, 1881, in Switzerland and was married there May 4, 1908, to Katharine Sonderegger, who preceded him in death July 12, 1967. They observed their golden wedding in 1958.


The couple came to the United States in March 1911, and had lived in southern Wisconsin for three years before coming to Greenwood in 1914. They operated a farm at Greenwood until their retirement in 1954, at which time they moved into the city of Greenwood. In Jan. 1967 he became a patient at the Neillsville Memorial Home.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Anita) Heck, Greenwood two sons, Fred and Walter Hohl, both of Greenwood five grandchildren nine great-grandchildren, and two half-brothers, and a half-sister, all in Switzerland.


He was also preceded in death by a sister.
