GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Philip J. Seliskar, 62, route 2, Greenwood, died at 1:05 a.m. today, Oct. 15, 1969, at St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, where he had been a patient since Aug. 26.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Mertens at
10 a.m. Saturday at the Hill Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at the
Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard. Interment will follow in
the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Friday afternoon.
The general rosary service will be held there at 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Seliskar was born April 29, 1907, at Waukegan, Ill., and came
to the Greenwood area at the age of three with his parents. He
received his education here and was a 1926 graduate of Greenwood
High School. He also attended the La Crosse Business University,
graduating in 1928. He then worked at various McClellan stores
until 1937, when he moved to Waukegan, Ill., where he worked for a
time. In 1945 the family returned to Greenwood to the home farm.
For the past 10 years he has been an accountant for Plautz Bros. Of
Willard.
Mr. Seliskar had been active in various organizations in the
community, having served as clerk of the Town of Eaton since 1954.
He also served as supervisor and town chairman he was a member of
the Clark County Board a charter member of the Greenwood Credit
Union and had been president and director since the organization
began financial secretary for the American Slovanian Catholic Union
for 17 years past president of the Clark County Association for
Retarded Children secretary-treasurer of the Greenwood Area
Ambulance Service secretary of Eaton-Warner Fire Association and a
member of the Knights of Columbus, Queen of Peace Council of
Thorp.
Survivors include his wife two sons, James Seliskar, Stetsonville
William Seliskar, Northlake, Ill. three daughters, Mrs. Miles
(Phyllis) Jurceka, Berwyn, Ill. Judith and Mary Ann Seliskar, both
at home nine grandchildren two brothers, John Seliskar, San
Antonio, Texas George Seliskar, Greenwood and a (the rest of my
