Gerald Wolf, 65, Neillsville, died Wednesday, April 11, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, 1990, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Rev. Steve Reiland officiated. Burial was in Dells Dam Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Gerald Wolf was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Bureau County, Ill., to
Vernon and Marie (Johnson) Wolf. He received his education in
Bureau County and Sterling, Ill. He worked as a security guard for
the First National Bank of Chicago, the Chicago Tribune, and Sears
and Roebuck. He married Alice M. Johnson March 21, 1951, in
Chicago. He attended the Police Academy in Chicago. He moved to
Neillsville in 1968 and was employed as a police officer and later
became Assistant Police Chief. He retired from the Police Force in
1981. He served in the Air Force, and was a veteran of World War
II.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Gerald, Costa Mesa, Calif.
three daughters, Mrs. Philip (Jackie) Weichelt, Granton Mrs.
Phillip (Pam) Ogan, Dixon, Ill. Mrs. Lonnie (Denise) DeMoe,
Mesquite, Tex. one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Verbetta) Muller, Skokie,
Ill. and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville was in charge of the
arrangements.
