Harry O. Hales, 96, Neillsville, died Monday, March 18, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Cremation rites have been accorded. Cremains will be interred at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
Harry O. Hales was born June 20, 1894, in the Town of York, Clark
County, to Albert W. and Maggie (nee Smithers) Hales. He served in
World War I. He attended the UW-Madison. On June 19, 1919, he
married Ferne Williams in Marshfield. She preceded him in death in
1958. He farmed for eight years in the Town of York , Clark County
and worked at Consolidated Paper Mill in Wisconsin Rapids for 31
years. His last position was supervisor of Semi-Chemical Plant. He
retired in August 1959. He married Mae D. Winn Dec. 26, 1959, in
Bardolph, Ill. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three step-sons, Ronald Winn, Wisconsin Rapids
Donald Winn, Wisconsin Rapids and Bernard Winn, Bay city, Mich.
several step-grandchildren and several
step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, both wives, four brothers,
three sisters, and one step-son.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
