GEORGE ROWLEY
A Committal Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 6,
followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist
Church, Loyal, for George Rowley, 78, of Route 2, Loyal, Clark
County.
Officiating at the services was Rev. Charles Sanford, pastor of
United Methodist Church, Loyal. Connie Meyer was the soloist,
accompanied by Julie Feldt on the organ. Interment was in the Loyal
Cemetery.
George Rowley was born in Evanston, Ill. On Nov. 20, 1899. He moved
to Clark County at the age of 14 from Kansasville in Racine
County.
He was married to Gladys Herdrich in the Town of Loyal on Dec. 26,
1923. They lived in Park Falls for three years after their
marriage. They moved to the Town of Loyal, where he farmed until
1962. He was also a meat cutter for both Rellis and Colby Grocery
Stores in Loyal for six years. They celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary in 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys two sons, Donald and Daryl, both
of Loyal; one daughter, Mrs. Claire (Ilene) Schlinsog, Kenosha; one
brother, Edward of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy)
Olson of Woodburn, Ore.; 16 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Jack Schlinsog, Dale Schlinsog, Jerry
Schlinsog, Jim Rowley, Ronald Rowley and Donald Rowley, all
grandsons
.
He was preceded in death by one brothers, Donald and one sister,
Lucy.
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
