Moore, Charles R. (1923 - 1991)
Charles R. Moore, 67, formerly of Greenwood, died Monday,
Jan. 28, 1991, at Sun City West, Ariz. A memorial service was held,
Feb. 2, 1991, in the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City Chapel.
Charles R. Moore was born June 22, 1923, in Normal, Ill. to Charles
B. and Sylvia Mae Moore.
He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1942. He served as an
Army officer in World War II. After leaving the service, he
attended and graduated from the University of Illinois with a
degree in agriculture. After teaching several years in Cambridge,
Ill., he was hried to teach agriculture at Carl Sandburg High
School in Orland Park, Ill., where he taught until he retired in
1984. Two years before his retirement he was voted Teacher of the
Year. In 1986 he moved to Sun City West, Ariz. He was a member of
the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, where he served as
Deacon, and a member of the Christian Education Committee, and as
Director of Church Beautification. He was an active member and
volunteer at the Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital, where he helped
gather materials for display in the hospital lobby.
Survivors include two brothers, George B. Moore, Neillsville and
Donald E. Moore, Aniwa several nieces and nephews, and a cousin,
Robert Clintsman, Greenwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given to the Sun Health Hospice of Sun City and/or
Hospice Services of Sun Cities Area.
