Krause, Alvin H. (1901 - 1991)
Alvin H. Krause, 87, Neillsville, died
Thursday, Jan. 24, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital,
Neillsville. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, 1991, at
10 a.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle
officiated and burial was in Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Family and
friends served as pallbearers.
Alvin H. Krause was born March 27, 1903, in the Town of Lynn, Clark
County, to August and Clara (nee Schier) Krause. He received his
education in the Town of Lynn. He worked in the Civilian
Conservation Camps and for WPA Road Construction, and logging
camps. On Dec. 2, 1936, he married Laurean Wilkens in Clark County.
She survives. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad that ran between
Babcock and Lynn. He then worked as a carpenter and farmed in the
Town of Washburn from 1948 - 1968. He moved to Granton and
semi-retired in 1968. He entered the Memorial Home in Sept.
1990.
Survivors include his wife two sons, Leland Krause, Granton and
Elmer Krause, Stevens Point one brother, Harvey Krause, Neillsville
and four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters,
and one grandchild.
