Copet, Loren Thomas (1907 - 1991)
Loren Thomas Copet, 83, Spencer, died Friday,
Jan. 35, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were Monday, Jan. 28, 1991, at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Spencer. Rev. Wm. Ruhbusch officiated and burial was in the West
Spencer Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Alan Griepentrog,
James Copet, Daniel Copet, Eugene Rand, Stephen Shapiro, and Ronnie
Sersch. Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 10, 1907, in the Town of Unity, Clark County to
Frank and Tillie Copet. He received his education at Parett School
and was a graduate of Spencer High School.
He married Agnes Ramen on Nov. 10, 1930, in Winona, Minn. She died
July 25, 1955. He then married Leona Singtock Ertl on March 23,
1957, in Marshfield.
He worked on his father's farm until 1938, when he moved to Spencer
and worked at the Farmers Coop. He became the petroleum department
manager there. He was a 20 year member of the Spencer Fire
Department and also helped organize the Rural Spencer Fire
Department in 1972. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and
was active on the church council for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Leona his step-mother, Selma Duvall of
Colby three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Miller of Lindsey, Mrs.
Ralph (Pat) Roider of Milwaukee and Mrs. Leon (Colleen) Zuehlke of
Granton one son, James of Marshfield one step-daughter, Mrs. Gene
(Bernice) Griepentrog, of Spencer two step-sons, Ken Ertl of Neenah
and Clarence Ertl of Neenah 11 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren
14 step-grandchildren and 35 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his first wife his parents and one
step-grandchild.
