Hogue, Helen C. (1902 - 1990)
Helen C. Hogue, 88, Neillsville, died Friday,
May 26, 1990, at 7:25 a.m. at her home. Funeral services were held
Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc. Neillsville.
Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated. Burial was in Greenwood City
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rudy Opelt, Earl (Shorty) Erickson, Buck
Lomis and Bill Matson.
Helen (Ehlers) Hogue was born Jan. 2, 1902, in Winona, Minn., to
John and Mary (Prucka) Ehlers. She received her education in
Neillsville and attended Teachers School in Eau Claire. She married
Clarence Billy Hogue on Nov. 23, 1927, in Greenwood. He died in
Sept. 1973. She taught school in Humbird and Merrillan for more
than 30 years. She retired in 1975 from the Humbird School
District.
Survivors include four sisters, Lillian Meyer, Neillsville; Mrs.
Robert (Jeanette) Braatz, Beaver Dam; Evelyn Junchen, Green Bay;
Mrs. Lester (Dorothy) Kreier, Beaver Dam; three brothers, Arthur,
Neillsville; Glenn, Brookfield; Eugene, Columbus; and many nieces
and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, four brothers and
one sister.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
