Gower, Irving R. (1901 - 1990)
Irving R. Gower, 89, Route 1, Granton, died Sunday, May 27, 1990,
at 11:40 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30, 1990, at Gilbertson
Funeral Home, Granton. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated the
service. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Wayne Gower, Mike Bitner, Marvin Lattimer, James Bitner, Bill
Beeckler and Ron McBride.
Irving Gower was born Feb. 26, 1901, in Alma Center, to Lee and Ida
(Wilding) Gower. He received his education at Houghtonberg. He
began farming after school in Alma Center. He moved to Granton in
1935, and farmed there until his retirement in 1965.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Theo Crume, Neillsville and one
brother, Glen Gower, Marshfield.
Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, was in charge of the
arrangements.
