Botnen, Della E (1908 - 1990)
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 1990, at United Church
of Christ in Neillsville, for Della E. Notnen, 81, Neillsville, who
died Friday, June 1, 1990, at her home. Rev. Linda Kuhn officiated
the service. Burial was in the Neillsville Cemetery. Serving as
pallbearers were Bob Shaw, Scott Elmhorst, Jerry Humphrey, Elliot
Warlum, Eric Elmhorst and Keith Sather.
Della (Woodford) Botnen was born July 7, 1908, in Midale,
Saskatchewan, Canada, to Henry and Nina (Cate) Woodford. She was
educated at Black River Falls. She graduated in 1956 from UW-Eau
Claire with a Bachelor of Science. She married Olaf Botnen, June
16, 1930, at Winona, Minn. He died in 1963. She taught school in
Black River Falls, and in the Neillsville school district for 29
years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the United Church of
Christ, Neillsville.
Survivors include a son, Dale Botnen, Placerville, Calif. two
daughters, Mrs. Wendall (Bonnie) Elmhorst, Neillsville and Mrs.
Karen Trimberger, Apache Junction, Ariz., and 10 grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two
sisters and two brothers.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville was in charge of the
arrangements.
