Fish, William (1901 - 1990)
William Fish, 88, Neillsville, died Tuesday,
June 5, 1990, at 11:28 a.m. at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. A
memorial service was held Sunday, June 10, 1990, at United Church
of Christ, Neillsville. Rev. Linda Kuhn officiated. Cremation rites
were accorded.
William Fish was born April 22, 1901, in Glenn Falls, N.Y., to Bert
and May (Wilmot) Fish. He was education in New York and
Massachusetts. In 1919, he graduated from Attleboro High School in
Attleboro, Mass. He attended Northeastern University in Boston,
where he studied structural engineering. He married Elinor
Chamberlain, Jan. 8, 1927, in Yonkers, N.Y. She died Jan. 7, 1985.
He spent most of his life in New York and New England. Early in his
career he worked in the structural steel industry. Later, and for
many years, he was employed by Architect Collaborative, a Boston
based architectural firm. He retired in 1970 and moved to
Wisconsin.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Richard Fish, Granton one sister,
Mrs. Ruth VanDeMark, South Yarmouth, Mass. five grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, one son, Stephen,
one sister and one brother.
